A night photo-walk along and around the King’s Road
Meeting Point: A night photo-walk along and around the King’s Road (exact details will be provided with confirmation emails)
The London Region of the Royal Photographic Society is teaming up with The Chelsea Society for a series of initiatives, offering a variety of photographic opportunities against a backdrop of this unique area of London.
Chelsea is not only steeped in artistic and literary history, but has its own strong cultural tradition.
From the blue plaques of Cheyne Walk to the scarlet coats of the Chelsea Pensioners, there is plenty of colourful material for informal shoots as well as some interesting opportunities for longer-term documentary projects, particularly in locations not always accessible to the public.
Over the next year, the two Societies will work together to create a body of work that will be a useful archive resource for the future as well as forming the basis of an exhibition in 2015.
The first meeting will be a night photo walk around SW3, finishing up with mulled wine and mince pies at one of the local hostelries, where members of both Societies will be invited to put forward suggestions for events during the year of collaboration.
Costs: The walk is free, but optional refreshments are at participants’ own expense.
