Visit to the Faringdon Collection

Event date | Oct 31, 2016

faringdonVisit to the Faringdon Collection, 28 Brompton Square, London SW3 on Monday 31st October at 3.00pm or 4.00pm

The Faringdon Collection, which can be viewed at both Buscot Park in Oxfordshire and at the London property in Brompton Square, is the result of a century of collecting works of art by the Lords Faringdon.

No 28 Brompton Square was bought by the 2nd Lord Faringdon as his London home in 1953, and much of what we see is the result of his passionate collecting.  Born in 1902, Gavin Henderson had been in his youth, one of the ‘Bright Young Things’ of that generation. He succeeded his grandfather in 1934 and extended the collection of paintings.  The present Lord Faringdon succeeded his uncle in 1977 and has continued the family tradition of collecting.  He has also undertaken a major refurbishment of the house in Brompton Square.

The cost of the visit is £20.00 including guide book.
