The Royal Borough’s Mayor, Councillor Elizabeth Rutherford, is hosting an evening at the Kensington Town Hall on Wednesday 10 May in support of her Mayoral Charity, The Kensington & Chelsea Foundation (https://thekandcfoundation.com/ ). She very much hopes you will be able to join her. This will feature the highly-acclaimed and locally-based Intermission Youth Theatre. They will be performing their own 30-minute take on Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar which is called ‘WASTED’.
Intermission Youth Theatre supports young people who are considered at risk due to lack of opportunities, poverty and crime. Every year they work with 25 young people aged 16-24 from different areas, faiths and varying nationalities. They use Shakespeare plays as inspiration, and reimagine his works by interspersing his original language with street rhetoric.
“I love Intermission Youth Theatre and greatly admire all they do. They are an inspiration to me.” Sir Mark Rylance – Patron
The evening will begin with drinks at 6.30pm, followed by the performance of WASTED and an opportunity for guests to talk to the cast. Drinks and canapés will follow with the event closing at 8.45pm.
A donation of £25 is suggested per guest. Please click here to book using the Donate link on the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation website and, when prompted, select events and include 10 May intermission and the number of your guests in the free text space. Your order will be acknowledged and your name will be added to the guest list.
