The 37th Carol Service on Chelsea Green will begin at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 10th December following the installation of the Christmas Tree on the previous Tuesday. This is a wonderful event with the road being closed for the safety of around 200-300 visitors, depending on the weather.
The Revd. Brian Leathard, Rector of St Luke’s, will officiate, and will bring a choir to accompany a Brass Band. There will be a raffle in aid of GlassDoor for prizes donated by shopkeepers and other supporters around Chelsea Green. This is sponsored and organized by John D. Wood and Clarion Housing Group, who will match all donations made during the evening. So, this is an important “social event” with shopkeepers handing out hot sausages, mince pies, Christmas cake and other delicious things, and the John D Wood & Co team serving mulled wine to encourage hearty singing!
