Chelsea Through Adversity
Online Lecture by Kira Charatan
Archivist at Cadogan
via Zoom 6pm 13th January (Link has been e-mailed to members)
The Chelsea community has faced many challenges over the last century – from the Spanish flu (which killed as many as WW1) and The Great Depression, to two World Wars. But troubles can be transformative.
Join us for an uplifting talk by Kira Charatan, Archivist at Cadogan, exploring how the people of Chelsea dealt with previous crises and how the unique, indomitable spirit and energy of the area made it the epicentre of rebirth – a flowering in creativity, ingenuity, new cultural movements and helping to inspire wider economic revival.
(And links to the Rolls Royce “Spirit of Ecstasy’ will be revealed.)
