A tour of the House of Lords has been arranged for Chelsea Society members by kind permission of Viscount Trenchard.
We will walk in the footsteps of the Monarch and learn about the State Opening of Parliament in the Royal Apartments which include the Robing Room, Royal Gallery and Princes Chamber. We will then enter the House of Lords Chamber where the work of the Peers will be explained in more detail. The tour goes on through the Grand Gothic lobbies following the same route Black Rod takes when the Commons are summoned to hear the King’s speech in November. We will see the statues of Prime Ministers inside the members’ lobby.
The tour will take place before the public are admitted, so members are requested to assemble at 8.45 am at the Cromwell Green visitor entrance.
Tickets £15 from the Box Office of the Cadogan Hall, 3 Sloane Terrace, London, SW1X 9DQ in person, or by post with cheque payable to Cadogan Hall, or by phone 0207-730-4500 (booking not available online). A charge is made by Cadogan Hall for card payments.
