The Chairman of the Society’s Planning Committee, Michael Stephen, has retired after five years.
Michael is a Barrister. He was MP for Shoreham 1992-97 and was PPS at the Ministry of Agriculture. He served on the Environment Select Committee of the House of Commons 1994-97. He will remain a member of the Council of the Society, as Vice-chairman.
On 6th May 2020 the Council of the Society appointed Sir Paul Lever KCMG to be the new Chairman of the Planning Committee.
Sir Paul was HM Ambassador to Germany 1997-2003, and Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee 1994-96. He has been the Planning Committee member for Brompton-Hans Ward, and a member of the Council of the Society, since 2017
