Private tour of Marlborough Primary School on Sloane Avenue (entrance in Draycott Ave), with co-head teacher Sarah Howell. This was an opportunity to see inside the rebuilt school with its imaginative use of inside space and outside areas for recreation and growing herbs and plants.
The school sees itself as an inclusive and welcoming primary school, and caters for many pupils with special needs. The school was established on the same site in 1878 and moved into its new building in 2017. The modern architecture caused controversy, and some local residents felt that the old Victorian school building should not have been demolished.
