Sir Thomas was one of Chelsea’s most famous citizens, who lost his head when he challenged the secular power of the time.
He worshipped at Chelsea Old Church, which contains his private chapel.
A film was made about him, starring Paul Scofield, Wendy Hiller, and Robert Shaw.
